File Extension WBZ

Files with the file extension WBZ are associated with Webshots, which is a desktop application that allows you to organize screensavers and wallpaper images, upload additional photos to the program, and keep track of your friends’ favorite photos. You can also browse the photos of other Webshots members as well as send free ecards as a greeting for special occasions.

WBZ files are a graphics file type which contains photos and images that are downloaded using Webshots. WBZ files are used to package images in a proprietary format to allow them to be viewed using the Webshots Desktop application. Webshots is a free software application which can be downloaded from the Webshots website.

How to Open WBZ Files

If you have come across a WBZ file, try double clicking on the file to see if it automatically opens in a default application. Since it is considered to be a raster image file, you may be able to open it using one of the applications you have installed on your PC.

If you use Windows, you can open WBZ files with AG Interactive Webshots Desktop. This is a web-based application that you can access by signing into your account on the Webshots website. You can also use Ultimate Webshots Converter which will convert WBZ files to a JPEG format, which makes it easier to open and view the file using a broader range of applications. fCoder Group ImageConverter Plus will also open WBZ files in addition to allowing you to resize the images and convert them to another format. ImageConverter is available as a free trial from the relevant website.

If you use Mac OS X, you can use Ultimate Webshots Converter for Mac, which is available as a free download from the SourceForge website. Ultimate Webshots Converter is also available on SourceForge in a Linux version if you use the Linux operating system.

Another free program that will open WBZ files is XnView, which is a software application to open, view, and convert graphic files. The XnView utility is available for Windows, Mac and Linux, and offers a host of features for working with graphics, including the ability to import more than 400 graphic file formats, work with graphics in terms of resizing and cropping, adjust the brightness and image contrast, along with a broad range of other features.

XnView is available as a free download from the XnView website where you can also find the NConvert graphics conversion program. NConvert is compatible with Windows, Linux x86, Linux ppc, FreeBSD x86, NetBSD x86, OpenBSD x86, Solaris x86, Solaris sparc, Irix MIPS, HP-UX, and AIX.
