File Extension SPO

The file extension SPO is associated with the Statistical Package for the Social Science by IBM and Spore by Electronic Arts. The Statistical Package for the Social Science (SPSS) is a group of software applications which are used to conduct statistical analysis and is offered in three bundles which include Standard, Professional, and Premium. Spore is a single player game created by Electronic Arts which provides adventures while hunting for food and is a game of strategy and survival.

If the SPO file extension is related to the Statistical Package for the Social Science, the file is categorized as a data file type which contains individual pages with graphs and tables that are used for statistical analysis. The file is exported using an earlier version of SPSS. The versions include SPSS 15 and earlier where SPSS 16 and later use the SPV file extension. Although SPO files are not compatible with the later versions of SPSS, the files can be viewed using SmartViewer, which is an application associated with SPSS.

If the file extension SPO is associated with Spore, the file is categorized as a game file type which stores saved games, including the stage of survival for each creature and the point of evolution where the creature was at the time the game was saved and closed. This allows the player to pick up at the last playing point before the game was saved as an SPO file.

How to Open SPO Files

SPO files which are part of the Statistical Package for the Social Science (SPSS) can be opened using SPSS 15 or earlier. SPSS is available in software bundles on the IBM website, and each individual software application in the bundle can include SPSS Data Collection, SPSS Statistics, SPSS Modeler, and IBM Analytical Decision Management. The Statistical Package for the Social Science is designed for use with Windows, Mac OS X, and the Linux operating system.

SPSS SPO files can also be opened using SmartViewer if you do not have access to SPSS 15 or earlier. The SmartViewer application is available on the Statistical Software Information page on the University of Massachusetts website and is designed for use with the Windows operating system.

SPO files which are created with Spore can be opened using the Spore gaming application which is available in a paid version on the Electronic Arts Store website and on the official Spore website. Spore is designed for use with the Windows operating system version XP and later and Mac OS X 10.5.3 Leopard or higher.

Spore SPO files can also be opened using a Spore emulator or Spore Creature Creator. Both applications are available on the Brothersoft Games website and are compatible with the Windows operating system version XP and later.
