File Extension PSD

The file extension PSD is associated with Adobe Photoshop by Adobe Systems. Adobe Photoshop is a professional grade image editor which provides many features for modifying images in a variety of different formats, including Camera RAW. The PSD file extension is a native format for Adobe Photoshop and supports a variety of other image formats which include bitmap, CMYK, RGB, grayscale, and multichannel.

PSD files contain data related to images which have been edited using the Adobe Photoshop program. This includes image layers and formats, annotations, adjustment data, and other elements typically included in a high-end graphics image editing application. Once you work with images in Photoshop, they are automatically saved in the proprietary PSD format where they can be converted to another format or opened with compatible image editing applications for the PSD format.
