The file extension PANDO is associated with Pando Package, which is produced by the Pando Networks Company. Pando is an application which allows you to transmit email attachments of any size regardless of Internet Service Provider (ISP) limitations.
PANDO files are a miscellaneous file type that contains instructions for opening a large email attachment. The Pando Package then processes the instructions to allow you to open and view the contents of the email attachment.
The Pando Package Program is a Peer-to-Peer (P2P) file sharing program that uses BitTorrent, which is a file sharing technology that provides a way to distribute files to others using the Internet. When the instructions from the smaller attachment are processed, Pando uses the information to retrieve the email attachment from Peer-to-Peer servers. This process provides a way to circumvent the limitations placed on file sizes by your Internet Service Provider (ISP).
Pando will handle email attachments up to 1GB in size, including multimedia contents such as video and audio files. The program also contains additional functions that allow you to share the email attachments using social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter. Pando also provides a way for you to post videos and photos on the Internet that can be downloaded by other users of the P2P program.
How to Open PANDO Files
In order to open files that contain the PANDO extension, both the sender and the recipient must have the Pando program installed on their PC. Pando is available as a free download on the Pando website and is compatible with the Windows operating system and Mac OS X.
When the email attachment is sent, the sender chooses the files for inclusion in the attachment and then clicks on Share New. This action uploads the email attachments to the Pando server where they are stored as a package for a specific hosting time.
As the content is being uploaded to the Pando server, a smaller attachment with the PANDO extension is sent to the recipient. The attachment contains information pertaining to the specific location of the files. When the recipient opens the PANDO email attachment, it initiates a direct P2P transfer from the PC, Pando servers, and other recipients on the P2P network.
Although the Pando program is free of spyware and malware, you must exercise caution when opening an attachment with the PANDO extension. Pando does not automatically scan attachments for viruses and malware, so you should have a quality antivirus/anti-malware program installed on your PC in addition to the Pando program.
