File Extension NWC

Files that contain the file extension NWC are associated with multiple programs and applications and various file types. The most common association is Noteworthy Composer, but the file extension can also be created with NavisWorks. NWC files contain data and information related to the program that created the file.

If the NWC file is related to Noteworthy Composer, it is an audio or song file type that contains musical notation, dynamics, barlines, clefs, staff structures, and other elements which are commonly used to compose music. The files can also contain audio to be used for playback with a Noteworthy Player device. This type of NWC file can also be in text format and in this case, the extension is displayed as NWCTXT.

NWC files that are associated with NavisWorks are a graphics file type that contains three dimensional illustrations, lines, objects, and other elements typically used with Computer Aided Design. NavisWorks is CAD software which allows you to create designs for the construction of buildings, manufactured products, engineering components, and other industries that require Computer Aided Design. NavisWorks was eventually acquired by AutoDesk, which is a company that specializes in a variety of Computer Aided Design software.

How to Open NWC Files

If the file extension NWC is associated with Noteworthy Composer, you can open the files using the Noteworthy Composer software application, which is available as a free trial download on the Noteworthy Software website. You can also use the Noteworthy Composer Viewer to open and view the contents of NWC files or you can listen to the playback using the Noteworthy Player. All Noteworthy applications are compatible with the Windows operating system.

If the Noteworthy NWC file has the NWCTXT file extension, you can open the file using the Noteworthy Composer program. Since it is a text file type, you can also open the file using any text editing program. If you use Windows, you can open NWC files using WordPad, Notepad, Open Office Writer, or Microsoft Word. For Mac OS X, you can use Apple TextEdit, TextMate, or Apple Pages.

NWC files created with NavisWorks can be opened using the NavisWorks Computer Aided Design software application, which is available for download on the AutoDesk website. The software is also backwards compatible, so you can integrate it with other AutoDesk CAD applications.

You can also open NavisWorks NWC files using another type of CAD program such as Google SketchUp; however, it is important to mention that you may lose some of the formatting and functions that are included in NavisWorks.
