File Extension MOI

The file extension MOI is associated with the Canon FS100 and JVC Everio series camcorders in addition to a few different models of the Panasonic camcorder. The purpose of the file is to store data related to videos created with the above mentioned camcorder devices.

The file extension MOI is a video file type that contains video-related data such as codecs, version data, video duration, bitrates, and other information associated with a video recording. MOI files do not contain the actual video file itself and instead describe information related to an MPEG-2 video recording. The data describes the contents of a MOD file which contains the actual video.

Camcorders such as JVC Everio create video files that contain the MOD extension. MOD files are standard MPEG-2 files that contain Dolby Digital sound. Since MOI files correlate with MOD files, both files should be opened when you are editing or converting the file extension MOI.

How to Open MOI Files
