File Extension IAF

Files that contain the file extension IAF are associated with multiple programs and applications and various file types. The most common association is Microsoft Outlook, but the file extension can also be created with Quikscribe or Informer. IAF files contain data and information related to the program that created them.

If the IAF file is related to Microsoft Outlook, it is a settings file type which contains email settings and is used in older versions of Outlook. The file is used to export settings from one PC to another. Microsoft Outlook is an email client and information management application that is part of the Microsoft Office Suite of productivity applications.

IAF file extensions that are associated with Quikscribe are an audio file type which contains audio transcripts created with the Quikscribe Recorder. Quikscribe is digital dictation software that allows you to create dictation files that contain audio, text, documents, and images. It is PC-based and is used for commercial dictation and transcription.

If the file extension IAF is created with Informer, the file is a configuration file type that contains settings and functions for the Informer application. Informer is a program created by Dataconomy that allows you to read a variety of data sources in different types of formats.

How to Open IAF files

Since IAF files are associated with multiple programs and applications, double click on the file to see if it will automatically open in a default program you have installed on your PC. IAF files can consist of different file types, so you may already have a program which will open them.

If the IAF file is related to Microsoft Outlook, it is generated by older versions of Outlook, which means you can import the files into newer versions of Outlook, but you cannot export them using the newer versions of the application. Another option for opening IAF files is to use the Online IAF Decoder which allows you to view IAF files in a browser. IAF Decoder is available on the MotoBit website.

IAF files that are created with Quikscribe can be opened using the Quikscribe Recorder application, which is available on the Quikscribe Digital Dictation and Transcription Systems website. You can also choose to convert the audio files to another format using a file conversion program. There are multiple file conversion programs available as a free download on websites such as CNET and Softpedia which will convert IAF files for you.

You can also use an online resource such as Zamzar which will perform free file conversion for you as long as the content is not copyright protected. Simply log onto the website, browse for the IAF file, choose a new format, enter your email address, and click on Convert. Within minutes you will receive the newly converted file in your email inbox.

If the IAF file extension is associated with Informer, you must use the Informer application to open the file. Informer is available in both a Standard and Professional edition on the Dataconomy website and is compatible with Windows and Mac OS X.
