File Extension VEM

The file extension VEM is associated with multiple programs and applications and various file types. The programs and applications include Meta Media, Sony Micro Vault, and VeePro. VEM files contain data and information related to the program that created the file.

If a VEM file is related to Meta Media, it is a video file type that contains video which can be placed in email format to be shared with other email users. This type of VEM file is created with Meta Media software which exports the file to a proprietary VEM format which is then used as an email attachment.

VEM files that are part of Sony Micro Vault are a compressed file type which uses a proprietary compression format that compresses up to three times as much data to be stored in Sony’s MicroVault Virtual Expander flash drive. VEM files are used with the Sony flash drive and by installing Sony MicroVault software on a PC.

If the file extension VEM is associated with VeePro, the file is a graphics file type that contains embroidery designs created with the VeePro application. VeePro is embroidery software which provides a way to create digital designs for embroidery machines.

How to Open VEM Files

Since the VEM file extension is associated with multiple programs and applications, double click on the file to see if it will automatically open in a default program you have installed on your PC. VEM files can consist of different file types, so you may already have a program which will open the file.

VEM files which are part of the proprietary Meta Media video email file format can be opened using the Meta Media Video Player. The video player is available as a free download on the Brothersoft and Softonic websites and is compatible with the Windows operating system.

If you do not have access to Meta Media Video Player, you can opt to convert the VEM file to another format using a file conversion program. There are multiple file conversion programs available as a free download on websites such as CNET and Softonic which will convert VEM files for you. Or you can use an online resource such as Zamzar which will perform free file conversion for you as long as the content is not copyright protected. Simply log onto the Zamzar website, browse for the VEM file, choose a new format, enter your email address, and click on Convert. Within minutes you will receive the newly converted file in your email inbox.

VEM files that are related to Sony MicroVault can be opened using the MicroVault Expander software which is compatible with the Windows operating system. MicroVault Expander can be obtained by logging on to the Sony.net website and then clicking on Products.

If the file extension VEM is associated with VeePro, you can open the file using the VeePro software application which is available as a demo on the VeePro website. VeePro is compatible with Windows and Mac OS X. Although this type of VEM is a graphics file type, converting the file is not recommended due to the risk of losing some or all of the necessary formatting to accurately produce the design with a corresponding embroidery machine.
