How to Open T06 Files
If you do not have access to the TaxCut application that created the T06 file, try double clicking on the file to see if you have an application on your PC that will open the file by default. If you have a newer version of H&R Block TaxCut installed on your PC, you may be able to open the file.
The best way to open the T06 file extension without losing the formatting is by using the native application that created the file. In this case, you can open the T06 file using TaxCut Home and Business 2006 which is compatible with the Windows operating system and Mac OS X.
You can also try to open T06 files using newer versions of TaxCut which would be one of the versions of H&R Block at Home software. If the application is backwards compatible with earlier versions of the program, you can open and view the contents of the file extension T06. H&R Block at Home is compatible with the Windows operating system and Mac OS X.
In terms of converting T06 files to another format for use with a broader range of applications, accounting and tax files usually can only be opened using the native application which created the file. One exception to this rule is if you have an accounting application that supports the format used by H&R Block software.
In this case, you may be able to open T06 files using an alternative application such as Microsoft Money or Quicken for Windows. For Mac OS X, you may be able to open T06 files using Quicken Essentials for Mac, iWork Numbers, or other Mac compatible accounting and financial applications. You may lose some of the formatting included in the T06 file but, at least you may be able to open and view the contents of the file.
